Questions answered
Air Conditioning FAQs for Klemzig Homes
These air conditioning FAQs answer what Klemzig homeowners ask us most often, covering pricing, emergency availability, licensing and choosing between systems. Klemzig Air Conditioning has pulled the honest answers together here.
Straight Answers on Aircon Pricing, Licensing and System Choices
We would rather answer the awkward questions up front than surprise you on the invoice. Below are the twelve things Klemzig customers raise before booking, from callout costs to which system suits a post-war brick home.
If your question is not here, Klemzig has more detail across the site, or you can call and ask us directly.
Questions
Aircon Pricing and Payment
Money questions first, because that is where most trades go quiet. Here is exactly how quoting and payment work with us.
What does a callout cost?
You get Fixed Upfront Pricing, meaning a fixed quote before any work starts, with no hourly rates and no bill shock, so the figure you approve is the figure you pay.
Do you offer finance for bigger jobs?
Yes, interest-free Humm finance is available for larger jobs, which spreads the cost of a full ducted install or replacement without adding interest to the bill.
Are there any discounts?
New customers get $50 off first service, and pensioners receive a 10% pensioner discount, both applied to the quote before any work begins.
Questions
Emergency Availability and Response Times
A dead system does not check the clock first. These answers cover when we work and how quickly we can get to you.
Do you work after hours?
Yes, we hold 24/7 emergency availability, so a system that dies during a February heatwave or a cold winter night can be looked at any day of the week.
How fast can you respond to an urgent fault?
We offer Within-the-Hour Response for urgent air conditioning issues, where availability allows, and we will give you an honest time when you ring rather than a promise we cannot keep. If it can wait, our air conditioning repairs team will book a slot that suits you.
Which suburbs do you cover?
We work across Klemzig and the neighbouring suburbs of Windsor Gardens, Gilles Plains, Valley View, Hope Valley and Ingle Farm, plus the rest of Greater Adelaide.
Questions
Licensing, Insurance and Guarantees
Refrigerant work is a licensed trade, and the guarantees behind it matter as much as the repair itself. Here is where we stand.
Are your technicians licensed for refrigerant work?
Yes, the work is carried out under ARC Licence L162586, an RAC01 Full Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Licence, which covers installation, service and refrigerant handling.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are a fully licensed and insured, family-owned business with ten years operating across Greater Adelaide, so your home is covered while we work in it.
What happens if a fault comes back after your work?
Our Lifetime Labour Warranty covers it: if a fault occurs due to workmanship, the team returns and fixes it at no cost, with no conditions beyond that.
Questions
Cooling and Heating Systems Explained
The post-war brick homes and the newer unit blocks around the suburb need different answers. These questions come up on site almost daily.
Should I choose a split system or ducted?
Split systems suit single rooms and the unit blocks and courtyard villas closer to O.G. Road, while ducted suits the detached post-war homes with roof space, and we size both on site. See our split system and ducted pages for the full comparison.
Can one system cool in summer and heat in winter?
Yes, a reverse cycle system does both, which suits Adelaide's hot dry summers and genuinely cold winters, and we will size it against your home's layout and insulation on site.
How often should my system be serviced?
Once a year before summer suits most systems, while evaporative units need seasonal attention to pads, water feed and bleed-off, and a yearly check catches small faults early.
